About Chance Farm

We focus on producing high quality vegetables by following organic practices and good land stewardship in Bozeman, MT. Chance Farm grows 30+ varieties of vegetables that we sell at Farmers’ Markets, restaurants, grocery stores, and our 200 member CSA program.

What is it like to work at Chance Farm?

Members of our tight-knit crew participate in many aspects of vegetable production including greenhouse seeding, planting, weeding, pruning, trellising, harvesting, washing and packing orders, farm maintenance, and farmers’ Markets. During the main season, our team consists of 15+ people. We utilize scale-appropriate tools to save time, reduce wear and tear on our bodies, and increase efficiency and productivity. Be an active member of a small team that takes pride in their work, and grow together!

What’s happening in Montana?

Gallatin Valley has a lot going on! Under the beautiful open skies of Montana there is lots of hiking, fishing, and backpacking. And, hey! Just a short 2 hour drive to Yellowstone! For those who revel in a growing, thriving community, Bozeman, MT is a great place!

We expect all applicants to :

  • Be able to commit to staying the duration of the season (through the end of October) 

  • Reliable transportation to and from work

  • Have a working cell phone for communication 

  • Be able to repeatedly squat, bend over, stand, and lift 50 pounds throughout the day and the season without strain

  • Be prepared to work outside in diverse weather conditions

  • Provide their own comfortable work wear

  • Flexible schedule: during the season, we may work past 5 PM to ensure all orders are complete for delivery the next morning. Because of this you must be flexible with your after-work plans!

  • Be able to follow instructions and pay attention to details

  • Work quickly and efficiently with a priority for quality

  • Be positive, energetic and see the good in other people

  • Be willing to gracefully receive and give feedback

  • Be observant and organized

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Currently, we are not able to provide a work visa
